Project Overview

The Mid-Island Bluebelt Resiliency project is a multi-phase initiative in New Creek, Staten Island that aims to address flooding-related challenges and deliver infrastructure upgrades that strengthen the area’s ability to withstand climate-related impacts. The project will include the construction and replacement of storm sewers and the modification of street grades to manage stormwater more effectively and enhance drainage. Long-term resiliency will be guided by a Climate Resiliency analysis, which will inform design decisions and solutions. Community engagement will be central to the design process, ensuring that the proposed improvements align with community needs and priorities.

For more details on the project, see the Mid-Island Bluebelt Project Overview Handout located in the Documents section in the right column of this page, available in English, Russian, and Spanish.
